Microphone OEM RFQ, Sample and QC Checklist

Turn a vague product photo into a quotation and approval standard that a factory can actually follow.

Private-label microphone OEM sample and quality checklist

Short answer

A complete microphone RFQ needs the platform or reference, quantity, market, connection, audio and control requirements, industrial design, branding, package contents, compliance expectations and schedule. The approved sample and written checklist should then define production QC.

Define the product

Name the current model or attach a reference and explain which features matter. State gaming, streaming, podcast, office or recording use instead of sending only an image.

Define the commercial request

Include estimated quantity, target market, sales channel, target timing and target price when available. Ask the supplier to separate sample, standard model, logo, packaging and ODM quantities.

Define the electronic configuration

List USB or XLR/USB, supported sampling requirement, pickup pattern, monitoring, mute, gain, volume, lighting, noise reduction and compatibility expectations. Do not assume a similar housing has the same electronics.

Define the physical package

Specify microphone color and finish, logo position and process, stand or arm, shock mount, cable, adapter, manual, inserts, retail box and carton markings.

Test the sample

Check voice clarity, self-noise, background-noise behavior, pickup direction, connection stability, controls, monitoring, RGB behavior, stand stability, surface finish, cable fit and package completeness.

Approve production references

Sign off the final sample, artwork, color reference, package structure, accessory list, labels and inspection checklist. Record any acceptable tolerance or test method before production.

Factory QC points to discuss

Frequently asked buyer questions

Why is a catalogue specification not enough?

Model platforms may support different configurations. A production order needs the exact approved combination of electronics, controls, accessories, branding and packaging.

Should the first sample include custom packaging?

Not always. A functional sample can confirm the platform first. A later branded or packaging sample may be needed before mass production, depending on the project.

What is the safest way to compare quotations?

Compare the same configuration, quantity, branding, accessories, packaging, test requirement and trade terms. A lower figure may refer to a different product scope.

What should be retained after approval?

Keep the approved sample, specification, artwork, packaging files, accessory list and QC checklist under a clear revision number.
